The Cincinnati (OH) Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc.

Dear Interested Parent,

The Guide Right Program, conceived in 1922, is the most important national service program of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. The purpose of the Guide Right Service Program is to place the training, experience, and friendly interest of successful men at the disposal of Young Men needing inspiration and counsel regarding their choice of a life’s career, and to arouse the interest of the entire community in the problems of Young Men as they seek to realize lives of usefulness.

Under the umbrella of Guide Right, Kappa League is the leadership development component that engages Young Men at a critical point in their lives. The purpose of the Kappa League is to promote and develop the leadership potential of its members through participation in club-oriented activities, and at the same time, encouraging them to raise their aspiration levels.  Our participants will be Young Men in grades 9th - 12th.

Kappa League areas of focus:

  1. Self-Identity - Discipline, Assurance, Awareness, & Appearance

  2. Training - Study Skills, Time Management, Leadership & Organization

  3. Competition - Politics, Debate/Spoken Word, & Sports

  4. Social - Religion, The Arts, Entertainment, Communication & Etiquette/Manners

  5. Health Education - Physical Fitness, Sex Education, Drugs, Health & Safety

  6. Economic Empower and Education - Stock Market, Banking & Cash vs. Credit

  7. College and Career - Academic Readiness, Career Day & College Admissions

During the program, participants will receive mentoring from local role models that will encourage the development of qualities that reflect responsible manhood. Upon completion, we expect the Young Men in this program to be leaders among their peers, and leaders in their community.

Meetings will generally be held no less than bi-weekly (with ad-hoc events as opportunities present); orientation will compose the beginning meetings followed by initiation into Kappa League, followed by workshops focused on personal and professional development. In addition, our young men will take part in community service projects and social outings.

Respectfully,

Bro. Raphael Hicks - Kappa League Chairman
